“It’s always been about love and hate, now let me say I’m the biggest hater”

    2. Both also take a replay or two to catch everything. Luckily they both have a lot better audio mix on the replay on YouTube vs live on tv for whatever reason.

    3. I think there was a lot more going on than that in Kendrick’s but either way, both fire

    4. Two years in a row, a show of defiance against pedophiles. America ain’t completely cooked

    5. Kendrick performance had more meaning than that but I ain’t gonna let it ruin a good joke

    6. Both gas. If Lamar did the halftime show in 2026 he would have addressed the bigger issues too.

    7. Prince Halftime Show: “Rolling Stone left me out of their Top 100 Guitarists of All Time list so I’m taking this opportunity to make them look stupid once again.”

    8. Kendricks was somehow a foreshadowing of what was to come in USA; all are leaders are pedos but they’re pointing the finger at the wrong person.

    9. Given the current state of America, Kendrick remains prophetic even if it was unintentional lmao

Funny joke but it’s lowkey annoying that people keep simplifying the Kendrick performance to just “omg he DESTROYED drake!!!”

kendrick lamar be like “i love women!” then does a song with Playboi “chokes pregnant women” carti and calls him his evil twin

    12. To his defense, we were all connected by love by Kendrick’s performance. The love to hate on Drake, who also happens to be a PDF.

Kendrick’s performance will never be topped for me. He held absolutely nothing back. Looked dead in the camera and called Drake a pedophile with a smile on his face. I get that this year was much more political than last year (even if it shouldn’t have been) and the positive message was powerful from Bad Bunny but as someone deeply ingrained in rap culture, I couldn’t have been more hyped for the definitive conclusion to this beef.

    14. Considering the uh “news” of all these powerful people being pd files it had to be done and had to start somewhere

    15. Thing is Kendrick was able to bring people together and still get at Drake lol what makes is so much better.

    16. I’m going to be real it was always weird that Kendrick would make a song calling him a pedophile instead of actually giving evidence of shit to somrone who could actually lock that nigga away AND calling him a pedophile. Aight if he’s a pedophile you are making money off a pedophile because that nigga still isn’t in jail.

The other issue I had was Kendrick was in New Orleans, a city know for Black Excellence and Black struggle. It feels like he missed a major chance at shouting out a city with rich Black Culture. Instead he just went:

“Walk in New Orleans with the etiquette of LA yellin’ Mustarrrrddddd”

That’s not to say that he still didn’t talk about Blackness or American politics., just as a Nigga from there, I was a little underwhelmed.

I’m not a Kendrick hater, I’m just not obsessed with him and think his new music isn’t necessarily in the same spirit as his old.stuff. Happy to be corrected though.

      Edit:

I’m actually looking for a respectful conversation. Does anyone want to explain their viewpoint rather than downvoting me?

I also wonder if this cultural influence by geography. PR live in paradise. Not to say it doesn’t suffer from poverty, environmental threats etc, but I think the beauty of their local makes it easy to be idealistic. Whereas many Black American have grown up in urban and or rural environments which can be harsh, demanding, cruel, make you particularly entertwines with reality.
